Oasis does not seem to have plans to record a new album, but they do have a lot to tell about their historic reunion. The band has set a date for ‘Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger’, their announced documentary about the Oasis Live ’25 tour, which will premiere at the upcoming Venice Film Festival before hitting theaters on September 11 and, later this year, on Disney+.
Directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, creators of ‘Shut Up and Play the Hits’, and created by Steven Knight (‘Peaky Blinders’), the documentary will include rehearsal, behind-the-scenes and concert footage, as well as Liam and Noel Gallagher’s first joint interviews in more than two decades.
Meanwhile, Liam Gallagher has taken it upon himself to cool expectations about a possible studio album. There will be no such thing.
After a fan begged him on “I’m just not prepared for the criticism if it doesn’t sell 100 million copies in the first hour, if it doesn’t cure the nation’s bad breath and constipation, if it doesn’t turn back the clock for Cher and some other shit.”
Liam finished off the exchange by making it clear that, for now, the priority is different: “Let’s give some concerts and be happy.” To another fan who asked him what a hypothetical new album would sound like, he responded that he would like to think it would sound “like Oasis” and not “like a bunch of electronic hipsters desperately trying to keep up with the kids.”
