Arca announces “XXXXX”, its first album in five years

Arca has announced the launch of “XXXXX”their first studio album since the publication of the series “Kick”released between 2020 and 2021. The new work will be released on July 31 through XL Recordings and will be made up of sixteen songs.

Although the announcement is not accompanied by any preview, the Venezuelan artist yesterday premiered “Diva.Experimental”, a livestream directed by Daniel Sannwald that was broadcast from seven locations in Barcelona and in which she performed several unreleased songs from the album. The broadcast could be followed through Twitch and YouTube.

According to information shared by his label, “XXXXX” explores a “darker, more aggressive and experimental” sound than their previous works. The album comes after a period in which Arca has focused a good part of his activity on collaborations and productions for other artists, in addition to publishing the singles “Puta” and “Sola” and participating in the project “Confessions II” by Madonna.

With this new release, Arca ends five years without releasing a studio album and opens a new stage after one of the most ambitious record series of his recent career.
