Mike D continues to shape his new stage away from Beastie Boys. The musician has announced an extension of the tour to present “Thank You”his first solo album, with a dozen new dates in North America and as many in Europe with his band, Mike D 5D.
The album will be released on August 28 through Capitol Records and the tour will kick off just two days later in Boston. To the five concerts initially announced, performances in cities such as Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago, Toronto, London, Amsterdam, Cologne, Lyon and Brussels are now added, in addition to their participation in festivals such as Portola (San Francisco) and Mutations (Brighton).
Mike D 5D is made up of Mike D himself along with Will Graefe, Eddie and Milo Ruscha, as well as Skyler and Davis Diamond, the musician’s children. The project marks the return of the Beastie Boys member with his own live material after the publication of several previews of the album, including the recent single “Crypto.”
Tickets for the new dates will go on sale on July 24, with a pre-sale scheduled for the 21st.
The events in Europe will be in October (Brighton, Glasgow, Manchester, London, Amsterdam, and Lille) and in November (Cologne, Lausanne, Lyon and Brussels).
