L7’s Jennifer Finch suffers from aggressive brain cancer

Jennifer Finch, founding bassist of L7, has been diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer and is currently undergoing treatment, the band has announced. According to a statement, what initially seemed like a disease treatable with radiotherapy has evolved rapidly, forcing her to undergo several surgeries. As a result, he needs continued medical care, rehabilitation and professional assistance at home.

To help face the costs of his recovery, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to fund nursing care, therapies and medical equipment. Among the people who have already asked for support for the initiative is Courtney Love, as well as other members of the music community.

Due to his health condition, Finch will not be participating in the fall 2026 US leg of ‘Last Hurrah’, L7’s farewell tour. Even so, the band has confirmed that it will continue with the tour with the approval of the bassist herself.

«We are devastated by the news. “Jennifer is family and we want her to feel the full force of the community that has loved and supported her for so many years,” said singer and guitarist Donita Sparks.
