James Ellis Ford Not only is he one of the essential British producers of recent years, but he also stars in his own solo career. Now he premieres “Overtones”.
“Overtones” is the first single from “Lost In Another World”which will be James Ellis Ford’s second album and the first for Domino, which will be released on August 14.
The album was recorded from start to finish in just over two weeks in early 2025, while James was admitted to a hospital between grueling chemotherapy sessions, following a diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia (AML), an aggressive cancer of the white blood cells from which he has already recovered.
And the result is what we will now be able to hear after having overcome a disease for which he was originally given a thirty percent chance of survival. Hence, the album seeks to convey fear, love, tranquility, boredom, pain, calm, disbelief and, ultimately, hope.
James Ford began his career as a member of Simianafter Simian Mobile Disco and later as producer of artists such as Arctic Monkeys, Blur, Depeche Mode, Klaxons and a very long list of names.
