Steve Lacy gets tender in the classic ‘the feeling’

On July 17, the new album by Steve Lacy, responsible for multimillion-dollar hits like ‘Bad Habit’ and ‘Dark Red’, will be released. The new preview of ‘Oh yeah?’ It’s a beautiful song called ‘the feeling’ which is our Song of the Day.

It is a delicate production made with Nicholas Weiss, in which Steve Lacy asks himself again and again in the chorus “Am I your baby?” The rest of the lyrics are a plea against loneliness in which the artist wonders where his loved one is, while he can’t stop looking at old photos.

The addition of very delicate keyboards and beautiful choruses close to soul that point towards the classic, does not prevent sex from making an appearance. At one point Steve Lacy explicitly remembers having sex on a carpet in an AirBnB, as far back as 2019, but which made him fly like Aladdin:

«Uh, when we fucked on your rug, had me floating like Aladdin (Baby, baby)
When we tripped in the Airbnb, 2019 (Baby, baby)»

The album will include the previous single ‘Nice Shoes’, although it seems that in a new version attached to another song titled ‘In Your World’
