Jennifer Lopez’s latest release with David Guetta is not going to sound new to anyone. Not only because the superstar has been singing it on his last world tour, but because it belongs to another era of pop.
The EDM of ‘Save Me Tonight’ is built to be a hit, but it’s not likely to be one outside of the context of a Jennifer Lopez concert. In fact, the official video for the song is a montage of their performance on the ‘Up All Night’ tour, much more spectacular than the song itself.
‘Save Me Tonight’ has the structure, feeling and repetitive lyrics of songs like ‘On The Floor’. His house passed through the pop filter could have been a success at that time, but in 2026 its launch seems more like a gift to the artist’s biggest fans, rather than a serious proposal.
Would we dance to it if it were played in a nightclub? Of course. Beyond that, it won’t have much mileage, except for the most nostalgic of pop. The lyrics, in which Lopez sings about the magical “touch” with which she will achieve salvation, are not going to amaze anyone either: “I’m looking for something / That makes me feel something / That I can’t ignore.”
