Inverfest, Madrid’s winter festival, is celebrated at the beginning of 2025, between January 9 and February 22, in different venues across the city. Rodrigo Cuevas, Judeline, Kiko Veneno and La Bien Querida are among the artists confirmed in this edition who have already announced their first name for 2026: Valeria Castro. For now, at JENESAISPOP we review 10 other essential artists on the Inverfest line-up. Tickets are on sale.

The latest winner of the Ruido Prize, therefore another of the essential names of new flamenco, María José Llergo continues to present the magnificent ‘Ultrabelleza’ in Spain, an innovative work that unites tradition and electronic music, putting tradition, Mala Rodríguez and Björk on the same map .

Little Bombo Hell Boy
‘I want to die’ or ‘Whenever I want’ are among the hits that have led the Barcelona band Muchachito Bombo Infierno to be crowned as the renewers of rumba. In 2025, Muchachito Bombo Infierno celebrates 20 years of experience. The band led by Jairo Perera presents its 2023 album, ‘What can go wrong’, recently reissued in “karaoke” format.

Nathan Simons
A year after presenting ‘Felinas’ at La Sala de WiZink Center, accompanied by Anni B Sweet, Vega, Repion and Virginia Maestro, rocker Nat Simons is preparing a new show at the same place that promises to be just as memorable, but will feature with different guests, among other surprises. Simons, meanwhile, is recording his next studio album.

Maika Makovski
A few years after releasing the album ‘MKMK’ (2021) and saying goodbye to ‘La Hora Musa’, the Mallorcan singer and songwriter Maika Makovski presents a new album, ‘Bunker Rococo’, which will please fans of PJ Harvey, Cassandra Jenkins, etc. ‘Bunker Rococo’ is an album recorded in Bristol and produced by John Parish collaborator Ali Chant.

Calequi and The Panthers
The ‘Mezcla Rica’ by Calequi and Las Panteras – the trio of Javier Calequi, Lauri Revuelta and Luisa Corral – combines funk, Afropop, cumbia, Latin and border rhythms and electronic textures in productions that exhibit very good taste. It is not surprising that stars like Jorge Drexler or Lido Pimenta collaborate, in fact, on this album (Javier Calequi is Drexler’s artistic director). Calequi and Las Panteras promise a “special” concert.
Date: January 25, The WiZink Center Room
Sword Master
One of the national revelations of 2024, Maestro Espada, the duo formed by brothers Alex and Víctor Hernández, has left its mark during the year with an album that recreates Murcian folklore fusing it with abstract electronics. Raúl Refree produces with them this album nominated for the Ruido Prize, with which the Hernández have found their place on the Spanish stages after going on tour with Guitarricadelafuente.
Date: February 5, The WiZink Center Room
Gorka Urbizu
Another album from 2024 that has been released without introductory singles (like those of Billie Eilish or Vega) is Gorka Urbizu’s, ‘Hasiera Bat’ (“a beginning”). Urbizu is of course the leader and founder of Berri Txarrak and, after having undertaken parallel projects such as KATAMALO or PEIREMANS, he has signed his name to the delicate pop-rock pieces that make up this album.

The New Raemon & McEnroe
8 after ‘Rain and Thunder’, The New Raemon and McEnroe have released their second joint album, ‘New Forests’. 13 romantic and reflective songs about love or life, written in a gentle folk-rock style, and whose authorship has been shared equally: Ricardo Lezón (McEnroe) has written all the texts and Ramón Rodríguez has composed most of it of music and arrangements.

Long live Belgrade
‘Cancionero de los Cielos’ has been one of the Best Albums of 2024 and, after a year, Viva Belgrado will present it at Inverfest. Rarely have post-hardcore and pop coexisted as well as in songs like ‘El Tragaluz’, ‘El cristo de los lanterns’ or ‘Saturno devorando a su Hijo’. A spectacular rock album and, also, a love/hate album for music that makes us love music, even more.
