The last song recorded by Joey Jordison (Slipknot) is released

The Italian band Alien Vampires has released a cover of “Assimilate” – an original song by Skinny Puppy– in which the artist participated Joey Jordison before passing away.

The American musician Nathan Jonas Jordisonalso known as Joey Jordisonand drummer and founder of Slipknotrecorded this cover of “Assimilate” by the dark industrial group Skinny Puppyfor the band Alien Vampires before dying in 2021, at the age of 46.

The song has been included in the new album of Alien Vampires “Return Me To Hell”, released through Belgian electro label Alfa Matrix. The band recorded the version in collaboration with Electhrone, Attila Csihar (Mayhem) and Istvan Zilahy (Plasma Pool) next to the deceased Joey Jordison.

It was Attila Csihar, lead singer of Mayhem and Jordison’s former bandmate in Sinsaenum, who confirmed it on his Instagram profile, explaining that the drums that play were Joey’s last recording. And it is worth remembering that Jordison, apart from being a member of Slipknot, was part of Murderdolls. Sinsaenum either Scar The Martyr and recorded punctually with Rob Zombie.
