The event, promoted by the Barakaldo City Council within the project Hiriko Soinuakwill take place from Thursday, October 19 to Sunday, October 22 in a tent located in the Herriko plaza in Barakaldo, and will have 10 stands from publishers, record labels, record stores, illustrators and collectors’ items.

is born Bunker, a fair of records, books, collector’s items, conversations and concerts that revolves around music and emotions. The fair will take place from Thursday, October 19 to Sunday, October 22, in a tent located in the Herriko plaza in Barakaldo. It will have 10 stands among which attendees will be able to find record stores such as Long Play from Barakaldes, Discos Bora-Bora (Granada) or Vinylora, from Vitoria-Gasteiz; record labels such as Alone Records from Malaga; publishing houses and bookstores with multiple musical references such as Lenoir (Girona), Editorial Milenio (Lleida) or Txalaparta (Pamplona); shops with collector’s items and memorabilia about movies, series or comics such as the Catalan El Enano Friki; and two stands dedicated to Euskal irudigileak, the professional association of illustrators of Euskadi, which will exhibit works by its more than 170 members and will have works by Cristina Fernández, Daniel Gojenola and Iraia Okina for sale.

Spaces have also been set up for artists, critics, editors and journalists to talk about their emotional connection with music. On Thursday the 19th, at 7:00 p.m., the round table will take place “Music, a vital experience”. Moderated by journalist Joseba Vegas (director of BI FM), will have the participation of Aiora Rentería (Zea Mays), David Gonzalez (Berri Txarrak, Pi LT, Cobra), Christian Rodriguez (artist in Lukiek and founder of the Ático Stereo record label) and the music journalist Javier Corral ‘Jerry’.

On Saturday the 21st, at 12:00 p.m., it will be the turn of “Letter and music, musical journalism of yesterday and today through emotions”again moderated by Joseba Vegaswith the music critic Eduardo Ranedo (Route 66, Rockdelux, El País), Gaizka Insunza (artist in Audience, Cápsula and solo), writer and music critic Amaia Santana and Ibai Villapun (cultural agent and communication consultant).

At 7:15 p.m., Joseba Vegas will chat with Alicia Quintela, one of the managers of the Barakaldo Long Play record store, about her 45 years of experience in the municipality. And at 8:15 p.m., Eduardo Ranedo will talk with José Ignacio Lapidowho will perform that same night with his band 091 at the Herriko plaza within the festival of Hiriko Soinuak. All the round tables and talks can be followed from the 100 seats that will be available in the covered tent of the Herriko plaza, in addition to being able to listen to them standing, of course.

On Friday the 20th, at 11:00 a.m., the psychologist specialized in art therapy and artist in the Arima group, Paule Bilbaowill teach the workshop “Gure leku seguruan” to a group of students from a school in Barakaldo. It is an introspection exercise in which the participants will try to get to know themselves better through artistic disciplines such as drawing, music or the plastic arts. At the end of the workshop, the students will take a short guided tour of the Hiriko Soinuak fair and festival grounds, showing them its ins and outs. This first edition of Bunker will also recognize the 45-year history of the Barakaldo record store Long Play. Mayor Amaia del Campo, representing the City Council and the people of Barakaldo, will present them with a platinum record in recognition of her extensive career. The event will take place in the run-up to the 091 concert on Saturday, October 21, at 10:15 p.m., on the main stage of the Herriko Plaza tent in Barakaldo, and you will receive the gift, representing Long Play and its family and colleagues, Alicia Quintela.

Bunker It will also feature three acoustic concerts throughout its four days. On Thursday, October 19, at 8:30 p.m., they will perform Vittersweet & The Malamute (R&B, Rap and Pop in duo format). On Saturday the 21st, at 1:30 p.m., it will be the turn of Gaizka Insunza, founding member of the Gernika band Audience, who in 2019 made his solo debut with more intimate songs. And on Sunday the 22nd, at 1:00 p.m., they will offer an acoustic show M&A Swing Machinea duo with elements of dance and cabaret, with the rhythm and joy of the 1920s from the perspective of the 2020s.
