The American band Future Islands have set a definitive date for their next full-length album with the premiere of the single and video clip “The Tower”, available this week on all platforms.
“People Who Aren’t There Anymore” will see the light next 26 of January and will once again underline how much Future Islands have matured as a band. Definitely with the formation of a quartet with Samuel T. Herring, William Cashion, Gerrit Welmers and Michael Lowry, Future Islands announce this seventh full-length just a couple of months after their previous tour concluded. That is to say, they do not leave themselves a moment’s respite to republish material and face their audience again, sooner rather than later.
Along with the announcement, the band has shared a new single from the album, “The Tower”, along with a video directed by Jonathan van Tulleken (“Top Boy”, “Shogun”). It is the second project on which van Tulleken and Herring have worked together: the two collaborated on “The Changeling” on Apple TV, whose first season aired in September.
“The Tower” thus joins previous singles such as “Deep In The Night”, “King Of Sweeden” and “Peach”, which will also be part of this new work by the American group along with others such as “Say Goodbye”, “Gime Me The Ghost Back”, “Corner Of My Eye”, “The Thief”, “Iris”, “The Sickness” or “The Garden Wheel”.
