Queens Of The Stone Age, Sheryl Crow and Bogotá burns lead the first confirmations of the Azkena Rock Festivalwhose 22nd edition will take place from June 20 to 22.
We already know the first 17 names that will pass through Mendizabala next June in the new edition of the Azkena Rock Festival. The performance of Queens Of The Stone Age, the band led by Josh Homme, will undoubtedly be one of the most anticipated moments of the festival. They will be accompanied by the unmistakableand Sheryl Crowa renowned figure in North American music (the documentary about the North American artist is highly recommended, which shows the hard times she had to go through, which reaffirmed her as a feminist icon) and one of the national bands that has grown the most in recent years, Bogotá burns.
The second line leaves us with juicy names like the Irish Glen Hansardthe gale Ty Segallthe soulero spirit of North Americans St. Paul & The Broken Bonesneo-psychedelia and the dark blues of All Them Witchesthe garagers The Detroit Cobrasthe psychedelia “Paisley Underground” by The Rain Parade and the Irish rockers Dea Matrona. Likewise, when almost two decades have passed since the death of her singer, Kike Turmixthe historic punk band from Madrid The Pleasure Fuckers will meet specifically for a single performance at the ARF for which they will have the voice of Scott Drake, from The Humpers.
The lineup includes six Basque bands with very diverse styles. The Gasteiztarra festival will feature the legendary Biscayan band ΠLT. which, from what it seems, will return to the stage once again, after its fleeting return in 2017 and last September at the DIMA Fest. Two of the banners of northern punk will not be missing either, the Navarrese Dead Lendakaris and the Gipuzkoans Crazy Brigade. They will finish the line up with eusko label Ezpalakone of the main names in alternative rock in Euskadi, Moonshine Wagonreferences but in this case of heavy-bluegrass, and Txopetone of the new and promising bands on the Bilbao scene, winners of the Gaztea radio station’s demo contest.
