Doctor Explosión and Jaime Urrutia collaborate on “She is not you”

The Asturian rock band Doctor Explosion releases a new version of “She is not you” with the composer Jaime Urrutia. The song begins a series of singles titled “The Strange Couple.”

The unexpected collaboration between the band and the composer arises as a result of Jaime Urrutia’s documentary “The Force of Custom”, who told Jorge Explosion (DE leader) to do a version of his for this one. They both decided to record two songs together, one from each, and that’s how “She’s not you” came about, which begins a series of singles under the name “The Strange Couple.”

The friendship between Jorge and Jaime – remember that he was the singer of Caligari Cabinet– was born when both worked on the album “What is not written” (10), of the latter. And although few were expecting this collaboration, without a doubt the result has not left anyone indifferent.

“She is not you” has that genuine, traditional rock feel, which is so similar to Jaime’s style that it has been an almost tailor-made collaboration. To complete the experiment, they recorded the song at Circo Perrotti, an analog recording studio located in Gijón (Asturias), and added nuances of psychedelic fuzz and keyboards to the song. Stephen Hirschfeld (The Mockers).

In addition, Doctor Explosión are committed to several dates on their tour “Moral Superiority Tour” which you can consult below and buy at this link: December 22 – Gruta 77, Madrid; December 27 – Gran Café, León; December 30 – Sala Stereo, Logroño and January 13, 2024 – Mockers Day Sala Fever, Bilbao.
