Next week – throughout the October 25 to 28– a new edition of the Bilbao international music fair will be held, BIMEwith an extensive program for professionals and the general public.
BIME, the Bilbao International Music Meeting, hopes to bring together 4,500 professionals from more than 50 countries, thus making the city the main meeting point for the sector. The Euskalduna Palace will witness an intense professional programming through BIME PRO, with panels, workshops, masterclasses and networking of more than 250 international professionals, which will run from October 25, Wednesday, until the 27th, Friday. In addition, the city will be filled with live music in BIME LIVEwith more than 90 free access concerts and DJ sets spread across 10 rooms and two outdoor stages.
BIME PRO programming is completed by artists such as Rozalen (IS), Arkan (IS), Alex Ubago (ES) and Travis Birds (IS); professionals like Morgan McGrath (US), Vice President of Booking in Latin America at Live Nation; Beatriz de la Pava (CO), renowned BBC journalist; either Andres Sanchez (MX), executive promoter of OCESA; and new conversations, such as the role of the podcast in the radio of the present with Sebastian Narvaez (CO), Director of Sudakas Media; Jose Angel Esteban (ES), Audio and Podcast Director at Vocento; and Leyre Guerrero (ES), cultural journalist for Radio 3; the dialogue with YOUROPE, where entities such as Roskilde, A Greener Future and Future Festival Tools will provide green tools and responsibilities to create sustainable festivals; or the workshopYoutube: a space for artists and composers”, in which representatives from Spain and the United Kingdom of the company will participate.
It will host large meetings such as MUSIC MOVES EUROPE AWARDS, the European Union awards designed to support emerging European talent, and “Programming Europe” will be organized, an international meeting of music programmers of various styles (classical, lyrical and amplified) at the European and Latin American level. BIME LIVE It will take place in different parts of the city from October 25 to 28. Ten rooms and two outdoor spaces will be responsible for hosting more than 90 showcases, concerts and DJ sets, all of them free, which will showcase the talents of the future and the most avant-garde proposals of the moment from Latin America, Europe and Spain. On Wednesday the 25th and Thursday the 26th, the showcases will be distributed at: Kafe Antzokia, Back Room, Bilborock, Cotton Club, Crystal, Dock, La Ribera, Muelle, Rocket and Stage Live; on Friday the 27th, Crystal, Bilborock, and again Kafe Antzokia, where there will be a special edition of Stereorocks Club, with performances by DJs Celia Carrera, Paul Larrozea and Hugo, selected from the BIME x Stereorocks call. On Saturday the 28th it will be the turn of the outdoor concerts in two locations in the city, the Doña Casilda Park, and the basketball courts next to the Euskalduna Palace.
